Softchem has completed an environmental assessment (EA) for Langer Heinrich Uranium (Pty) Ltd's proposed uranium mining project, located 80 km east of Swakopmund. The findings of the assessment are presented in the environmental assessment draft report, available for public viewing at the main libraries of Windhoek, Swakopmund and Walvis Bay. Feedback is invited on this report by 17 November 2004.

Three public participation meetings are scheduled to present the contents of this report, and general information regarding the project. These meetings will be held at the following venues:

Swakopmund
Date: 21 October 2004 at 18:00.
Venue: Fisheries Centre Lecture Hall.

Walvis Bay
Date: 22 October 2004 at 14:00.
Venue: Pelican Bay Hotel.
